GOD IS OUR REFUGE!
“Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour
our your hearts to Him, for our God is our refuge.” (Psalms 62:8)
I am so glad God is my refuge! Spending so much time alone
during the day due to CFIDS/FM, I often find myself pouring my heart out to God. Sometimes I complain about my circumstances,
other times I praise and worship Him, and still other times I petition Him for sometimes long-awaited answers to my prayers.
However I choose to pray, I am very grateful for a God
who listens and hears, a God I am able to trust in, even when I don’t understand the reasons behind my suffering or
certain things that happen in my life. I am confident that God is Sovereign (Psalms 115:3) and will work all things out for
His glory and for my good (Romans 8:28). I know that I can trust and rest in Him!
With my daily limitations due to CFIDS, sometimes the daily
pressures of life seem overwhelming. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, doctor’s appointments, dentist
appointments, etc., all seem to come so fast and can leave me frustrated and breathless unless I rest in Him. Today was one
of those days! As I allowed the pressures and worries of this world to control my thinking, I had no peace. When I put everything
into God’s hands, I finally found the peace I was longing for.
It is at these times, usually after I have been stressed
out worrying about what needs to get done and whether or not I will have the energy to accomplish it, that I finally remember
to come before the Lord and sit before Him. It is when I put my schedule into His hands, that I have peace. Peace comes only
after I take refuge in Him.
Dear Jesus, help us to know that, as Christians,
our peace is in You. You, Jesus, are the only true and lasting peace this world has to offer. You are the Prince of Peace.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
